True, unfortunately..
I think 2016 at the earliest, Crackdown is reportedly in very early development so it could even be 2017.
But if we get Gears 4, Quantum Break and Scalebound next year I'll be happy.
Should have just released H2A and saved the rest of the games until their respective 10-year birthdays.
I blame 'bang fer yer bucks' idiots.
This article must have been posted across from some alternate reality.. that's the only reasonable explanation I can think of.
No, just don't bother making the remasters and focus on making the new game.
Two hours is too long, quite frankly. Focus on the important stuff at the conference then expand on it in interviews / demos etc.
As you say it goes both ways, Konami was paying the bills if they weren't, we simply wouldn't have those games.
It's hard to see who will in the future..
I've been resisting the Vita over the past few months in hope of a price drop so yeah, pretty excited about this news!
I think we need to think carefully about who is being 'greedy' in all of this.
It's not profitable for them any more so what do you expect them to do, they're not a charity - screw you if you 'can't forgive' them for trying not to go out of business.
Oh, and Konami's legacy is far, far more than just Metal Gear and Silent Hill.
Oh I absolutely agree, I think they did a good job on KS and would go as far as to say N&B and VP are among their very best games ever.
It's just articles like this are almost always, unfairly, used to troll them.
A missed opportunity to troll Rare!?!
SCANDALOUS!
Actually, this has drummed up a ton of free publicity.. nice one Konami.
Devastating if true.. another of the old guard fading away :(
Better be an 'anniversary' remake á la Fable and Halo.
There was a good 15-year gap between World and NSMB, and they're as different as World and 3, say.
Also there's one NSMB game on each platform and Nintendo clearly views it in that sense, ie. NSMB for DS, NSMB for Wii etc.
Ironically it's not 'new' any more, so perhaps they'll start a new series with the next 2D Mario.
Nintendo actually does a great job managing franchises.
Metroid for example was prolific through the 2000s, after being absent since the SNES days - now it's had a few years off and fans are screaming for a new one.
There's always some series on a break and some set of fans going boogaloo about it!
Well said.. can't believe there are people who think it's okay for ND to delay Uncharted 4 then announce they've been pissing time away on a remaster.
Madness in here.
I bought my PS4 to play new Uncharted games, not to replay old ones, so if there's so much as one single soul at Naughty Dog not currently working on Uncharted 4, they can kindly get off their ass and start working on it. Mush!
Metroid fans need to get a grip - the series had a massive run through the 2000s but now it's on a break, deal with it.
This year we're getting the first console Star Fox and Mario Tennis games in absolutely ages, it's a chance for fans of those series to rejoice.
Nintendo has so many fanbases and there are always hot and cold patches, you just gotta wait your turn.
